Locations, Parish_Record_Places, and Dates of Parish Records at Durham Records Online

In 1875, the civil registration district of Durham was split into the districts of Durham and Lanchester, and in 1859 the district of Stockton was split into the districts of Stockton and Hartlepool. We have chosen to use the later categorization of parishes into districts. For example, in the list below, Esh was in Durham district before 1875, but was in Lanchester after 1875, so we have listed Esh in Lanchester.

A starting date in italic type indicates that records exist before this date, but we do not have them. You can sort the tables below by Location, Denomination, or District by clicking on the column headers.

From March 1800 to April 1803, many baptisms in the PR do not show the parents' names, but those names are in the BT. In May 1803, several abodes are blank in the PR but are included in the BT. Baptisms for Jun-Dec 1812 are missing from the PR but are in the BT. The burial register for 1807-1812 has been lost so those burials were transcribed from the BT.
